PURCHASING ASSISTANT

READING AREA, PA

We are looking for an experienced Purchasing Assistant for a potential temp-to-hire position. This is full-time work: 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday.

Responsibilites:
- Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs
- Research potential vendors
- Track orders and ensure timely delivery
- Update internal databases with order details
- Research pricing trends
- Evaluate offers from vendors and negotiate better prices
- Prepare cost analyses
- Maintain updated records of invoices and contracts
- MUST have construction tools/hardware AND experience in the drywall industry
- Supply chain/distribution center understanding
- 2+ years of experience in Purchasing or similar role
- High school diploma or Associates Degree
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Able to stand most of the day
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
- Hands-on experience with purchasing software (NAV)
- Excellent organizational skills
- Knowledge of market research
