Essential duties include but are not limited to:
Become familiar with the plant facility and general operations of same
Diagnose and perform repairs on variety of plant equipment including, pumps, fans, gear boxes, shafts, water lines, valves, belts, motors, electrical panels, etc
Perform electrical; replace fixtures, switches, receptacles and wiring
Perform plumbing; repairs faucets, valves, lines, etc
Perform welding; tig and stick
Maintain and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning units and systems.
Perform installation, adjustments, preventative maintenance and maintenance of all equipment
Perform carpentry work as needed
Handle tools and equipment properly and to use required protective gear
Read and comprehend blueprints, charts, sketches, building plans and technical repair manuals
Comply with all Federal, State and Company Safety guidelines/procedures and to ensure that the maintenance staff is also in compliance
Conduct inspections looking for breakage or excessive wear, replacing parts and reassembling equipment according to specifications.
Ensure proper inventory is completed
Maintain daily logs and reports on a timely manner
Any other duties as requested by the supervisor or manager

Qualifications:

Education and or Experience:
Graduation from high school and four years of experience in mechanical maintenance, repair work and supervising; especially related to plant maintenance; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which would provide the following knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Thorough knowledge of practices, tools, and equipment associated with one or more trades such as plumbing, electrical, painting, HVAC, or related field.
Thorough knowledge of standards hand and power tools and equipment used in plant maintenance and repair activities; ability to use and operate hand and power tools such as electrical drills, air drills, hand wrenches, welding and other tools as needed in a safe, efficient manner.
